Scheduling Assistant - Ipswich

Our client has an exciting opportunity to join the award-winning independent property developer team and grow and develop within the company. Our client builds exceptional collections of beautiful homes and are continuing to expand this successful business and are seeking a Scheduling Assistant. The right candidate will be working to support the Scheduler assisting with fulfilling his/her responsibilities, working alongside the Commercial Director, contributing to the overall success of the business through the provision of efficient and effective administrative and support.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to work well in a team with a confident and approachable manner and ability to effectively manage their time and be adaptable. We are looking for highly motivated individual, with great communication skills coupled with the ability to apply commercial thinking to all planning decisions, using the information available to ensure accuracy and effective work management with evolving and expanding growth and development.

 

While the work can vary day to day, our key requirements don’t: you must be well organised, extremely helpful and resourceful, and able to use your initiative. You’ll understand that what you do is important, and impacts on your team, the department, and the wider business.

Job Role: Scheduling Assistant

Hours: Mon-Fri 0830-1700

Salary:  £25,000

What You will be doing:

  • Confidently and pro-actively Support and Liaise the Scheduler and the divisional Commercial departments to optimise business performance and ensure timely and prioritised production of bills of quantities and materials schedules
  • Support in accurately produce accurate take-offs for houses and apartments and transfer them to our estimating system
  • Support with the production of accurate materials schedules for use during the procurement process. Elements include roof timbers and first and second fix materials.
  • Support the Scheduler to ensure the completion of all allocated sites within an appropriate time scale and maintain a consistent high standard of work
  • Effectively work and communicate as a team to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Apply problem solving skills where there is a shortfall of information within issued working drawings or attached specification of work and pass on any relevant knowledge to other colleagues
  • Provide an efficient and effective service to the divisions for general information or specific enquiries

Who we are looking for:

  • The ability to manage and prioritise your own workload and time with minimal direction within a team environment
  • Previous experience of scheduling and general surveying systems- preferred, but not essential
  • Knowledge of construction methods (particularly in the house building sector) - preferred, but not essential
  • The ideal candidate should have a good knowledge and user ability of Microsoft Office packages especially a strong skill set with the use of Excel and Outlook
  • Have excellent communication skills and the drive to influence staff at all levels.
