Our client has an exciting opportunity to join the award-winning independent property developer team and grow and develop within the company. An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an individual to establish themselves in the company as a Development Estimator.
Our client builds exceptional collections of beautiful homes and are continuing to expand this successful business and are seeking an Estimator/Surveyor for the Commercial development team. The right candidate will have experience with Estimating within the residential building construction industry, working alongside the Commercial Director, contributing to the overall success of the business through the provision of efficient and effective delivery of their role.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to work well in a team with a confident and approachable manner and ability to effectively manage their time and be adaptable. We are looking for highly motivated individual, with great communication skills coupled with the ability to apply commercial thinking to all planning decisions, using the information available to ensure accuracy and effective work management with evolving and expanding growth and development.
Job Role: Estimator
Hours: Monday - Friday
Salary: Up to £60,000
Duties and responsibilities:
- Responsibility for providing detailed cost analysis from measured take-offs and evaluating cost effectiveness and profitability of development schemes
- Scheduling and take-offs from drawings
- Collating building cost information with the commercial team, market research and technical team
- Collating strategies with the pre-development team in order to maximise value
- Assisting in preparations of land procurement and purchase
What we are looking for:

- Inquisitive attitude with confidence to liaise and challenge when required
- Ability to set and meet deadlines
- The ability to manage and prioritise your own workload and time with minimal direction within a team environment
- Previous experience of scheduling and general surveying systems
- Knowledge of construction methods (particularly in the house building sector- preferred, but not essential)
- The ideal candidate should have a good knowledge and user ability of Microsoft Office packages especially a strong skill set with the use of Excel and Outlook and ability to read and understand drawings
- Have excellent communication skills and the drive to influence staff at all levels
